From August 16-19, CWA Local 1037 joined CWA and CWA-affiliated Union members from across the country in Atlanta, Georgia, for the CWA Human Rights Conference. Workshops were held on workplace allyship, self-care while being an advocate, gender and immigrant support resources, and understanding the future of AI in the workplace.

We heard from members and elected officers of locals across the country, including Walter E. Andrews of Local 3204 in Atlanta, who has led local and national Union mobilizations in support of Black, immigrants, and worker rights; and members of the AFA-CWA, who spoke out in support of the ongoing Delta Flights Attendants’ ongoing fight for a fair contract, and

The final day of the conference featured an Interactive Activist “Mall” where attendees visit different activist stations within one space to learn about the work of several excellent affiliated groups, as well as resources and skills, such as how to create lighted window signs, how to talk to register to vote, and much more.

A frequent mantra of the conference was that workers rights are human rights.
