Sign the Petition: Tell Ray Ocasio, “Do the Right Thing”

As part of the NJ Better Beginnings campaign, CWA Local 1037 has been working with our partner New Jersey Communities United to bring together child care workers, parents and community members into a movement that uplifts the working conditions for child care workers and the learning conditions for our children. Last year, over 100 child care center workers at La Casa de Don Pedro in Newark overwhelming voted to become members of CWA Local 1037.

SIGN THE PETITION: Tell La Casa’s Executive Director, Ray Ocasio, to “Do The Right Thing!”

These child care workers are fighting for a first contract. The workers at La Casa have focused their negotiations on raising standards across the board, advocating for the communities they serve and fighting to ensure our children receive the quality of education and care they deserve.

But now management at La Casa is refusing to consider wage increases that recognize the value of the hard work and dedication of the workers who have cared for our children for the last 45 years. This has essentially brought contract negotiations to a standstill – along with the implementation of proposals that will benefit the children in our classrooms.

SIGN THE PETITION: Tell La Casa’s Executive Director, Ray Ocasio, to “Do The Right Thing!”

The workers at La Casa who serve our communities and care for our children NEED YOUR SUPPORT TODAY! When child care workers fight for better working conditions, they are also fighting for our children and their future. Sign the petition and #TellRay to DO THE RIGHT THING!
