On October 29 and 30, 2026, CWA Local 1037 members at The Leaguers voted overwhelmingly to ratify a new Union contract.

The negotiated contract includes raises across all departments and classifications, no forced overtime, faster vacation accumulation, stronger protections for our break, and much more. View the summary of the Tentative Agreement here.

In the days leading up to the ratification vote, over 70 members joined in-person and virtual sessions to discuss the terms of the agreement.

“This contract is two years in the making. Members stood strong in demanding a fair contract,” said Angela Samuels, a Shop Steward and Teacher at the University Avenue site in Newark.

“When I came in to work during the ratification vote, I asked everyone ‘did you vote’ and the excitement was high,” said Katina Ginyard, a Family Advocate at the Broad Street site in Newark.

The new contract begins February 1, 2025, and runs through January 31, 2028.
