Leaguers Workers Hold Mass Union Meeting to Build Momentum for a Fair Contract

CWA 1037 workers at The Leaguers, Inc. held a mass Union meeting on Saturday, August 29 in Newark. For over 2 hours, workers of all job titles at over 10 Leaguers, Inc. sites strategized and built solidarity to overcome management’s stonewalling tactics.

After nearly two years at the bargaining table and working under an expired contract, workers are tired of being ignored and have joined together to pressure management. Early returns are promising, with management finally putting its contract proposals offers in writing last month, and allowing the Union to table at the annual in-service trainings before the school year. But workers are determined to ensure management agrees to a fair contract, and ceases all unfair labor practices.
