In honor of former President Mike Hopkins, CWA Local 1037 will be awarding up to ten (10) scholarships in the amount of $1,037 for the 2026 – 2027 academic school year. Members, retirees, and their immediate family members who are pursuing secondary education, technical school, or on-going adult education are eligible and encouraged to apply.

Mike Hopkins was a fearless leader in Local 1037 for more than two decades. His belief in building a strong union through organizing and building power in our workplaces, and his tireless efforts toward that goal, imparted an unsurpassed impact on our Local’s culture.

Mike was also a great believer in training and education. To honor his legacy, in 2025, the Michael J. Hopkins Memorial Scholarships were established.
