UVSO Workers Picket to Demand Fair Contract

On May 10, CWA Local 1037 workers in early childhood at the Unified Vailsburg Services Organization (UVSO) held a picket to pressure management to bargain a fair contract.

Workers have been frustrated by the frequency of late paychecks and management’s delay in bargaining a fair union contract. Workers are escalating actions so that they can begin the next school year with a union contract that provides fair wages, improved working conditions and protections. Improved conditions for early childhood workers mean better learning conditions for the children in our communities.

CWA Local 1037 works in partnership with NJ Communities United to uplift the childcare industry in New Jersey for workers and families. Together, we have built The Workers in Early Childhood Action Network (WECAN) to fight for funding to increase wages, improve the classroom experience for our children, and ensure the safety of our children & the dignity of workers.
