Protect Your Pension! PERS Nominations Are Now Open

PERS NominationsThe nominations for Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) Board Trustee are currently underway. It is important that CWA 1037 memberse nominate pro-worker/pro-union candidates to sit on the PERS Board.

The NJ AFL-CIO has endorsed William O’Brien, a union brother and member of IFPTE, as the State Worker representative on the PERS Board. Bill is an incumbent Trustee who has consistently stood up for public workers and we urge his re-election.

The NJ AFL-CIO has also endorsed Tracy Smith, a union sister and member of AFSCME, as the County Worker representative on the PERS Board. Tracy is an incumbent Trustee who has consistently stood up for public workers and we urge her re-election.

PERS Trustees have significant influence over the future of the pension system. Therefore, it is essential that you take part in the current nominating process which requires a total of at least 500 signatures to be collected per candidate.
