How Do I Vote By Mail?

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT VOTING BY MAIL

There are 2 ways to vote in New Jersey

  1. Vote by mail.
    • All active, registered voters will receive a mail-in ballot for the General Election. Complete your ballot, sign, seal and return it one of the following ways:
      1. Mail it back by November 3. Your mail in ballot must be received by your county’s Board of Elections on or before November 10.
      2. Drop your ballot off into a Secure Ballot Drop Box by 8:00 p.m. on November 3. Click here for Drop Box locations.
      3. Deliver your ballot in person to your county’s Board of Elections Office by 8:00 p.m. on November 3.
      4. Bring your ballot to your polling place by 8:00 p.m. on election day, November 3.
    • You can track your ballot here.
  2. Vote in person on Election Day, November 3, at your polling sites.
  3. Other things you should know.
    • Voters who come in person to their polling place get a provisional ballot to ensure they are not voting twice.
    • Voters who want to go to their polling place (it may be different from the usual polls) should take their completed Vote-by-Mail ballot and hand it to a poll worker.
