Carey Brown Re-Elected to PERS Board Trustee

Congratulations to Carey Brown on being re-elected to the New Jersey Public Employees’ Retirement System Board Trustee. The landslide re-election victory was nearly a 2-1 margin, 5,274 votes to 2,920, announced by PERS on July 21,2021. (PERS members voted from March 29 through the extended deadline of June 28.)

A former shop steward for CWA 1037, Carey Brown was also a member of the Kean Federation of Teachers AFT 2187, and has been a vocal advocate for public employees for the past six years as Board Trustee. His win will ensure a strong labor voice on the Board to continue to safeguard the retirement security of state workers.
