CWA Local 1037 represents home child care providers throughout the state of New Jersey. Their work is not only important, but essential to ensuring a bright future for our next generation. Sadly, their work caring for the children of working families is unappreciated and often goes unnoticed by those in power. Even worse, many of them work upwards of 50 and 60 hours each week while earning so little that many of them qualify for public assistance. The Nation recently published an in-depth and thoughtful article about the work of home child care providers in New Jersey and their struggle for a new contract.
