12/30: New Contract Ratified!
Local 1037 members at the PCBSS just completed a ratification vote on a new 5-year agreement. Ballots were counted on December 29th, with 158 members voting YES and 11 voting NO. The new Contract provides for increases of 15.9% plus increments, a clerical bonus, a title upgrade, and protects holidays and a popular flex time program. While the agreement calls for some health care cost-sharing by workers, it also protects quality coverage and extends the prescription drug plan to retirees. All told, the agreement is one of the best public sector Contracts signed anywhere this year -- and this was reflected in the vote count. Special thanks to all the PCBSS Shop Stewards.
