Bergen's Promise
CWA represents 25 social workers and administrative staff at Bergen's Promise, a private non-profit based in Paramus, NJ. Workers at Bergen's Promise organized with Local 1037 in December 2005 and completed negotiations on their first contract in June 2006.
Bergen’s Promise Employees Unanimously Vote to Ratify New Contract!
On December 11th we reached a Tentative Agreement with management for a new Contract. We are pleased to report that the Bargaining Committee has unanimously recommended this Tentative Agreement for your ratification. On December 13th, the contract was ratified in a unanimous vote by the employees at Bergen’s Promise.
This agreement reaches the goals established by Bergen’s Promise staff through the bargaining surveys. It provides for raises which average 8.8% over 2 ½ years and increases the maximum salaries for Care Managers and Senior Care Managers. It preserves our healthcare benefits with no increases in the level of employee contributions. It also improves the amount of time that can be taken off, by increasing vacation to four weeks after 4 years, and by allowing the use of flex time to take a full day off.
